Take a Cruise!
Cruising is the best value vacation you can take. Where else can you visit 4 or 5 (or more) cities while still sleeping in the same bed at night? It is the perfect opportunity to visit cities you have never been to for a quick look about to see if you would enjoy a land-based vacation there. The cruise ships themselves are floating luxury hotels with all meals and entertainment included. Extra's that can be paid for onboard are gambling, alcohol and some of the onboard restaurants may charge a small surcharge (well worth the $10 or $15!). If you have never cruised before start off with a shorter cruise such as a 3 day repositioning sailing. This will give you the opportunity to test the waters, so to speak, and make sure that you would enjoy a longer voyage. Another advantage to repositioning cruises (where the ship is being moved to another geographical area to start a new itinerary) is the price! A 3 day Pacific Coastal repositioning cruise from Los Angeles to Vancouver in May is running at $235.00 per person, based on double occupancy including all taxes! 3 days in a luxury floating hotel, 5 star dining and entertainment for $235.00! How can you go wrong! When booking your cruise, make sure to price each catagory - inside, oceanview and balcony staterooms.
Quite often, the cruise-line has special offers available where you are only paying $100 or $200 more for the upgrade to oceanview or balcony - well worth it! Also, if you are travelling with children (or adults you would enjoy sharing a small space with...) - the 3rd and 4th person in the cabin generally pays alot less than the 1st 2 passengers - a good tip to save even more money per person! There are many other reasons to cruise - but you'll have to try one yourself to find out. There is a reason that cruising has the highest satisfaction rate of any vacation type!! Bon Voyage.... |
